This is an attempt to study the geometry of the soccer ball as well as a challenge to make the ball parametric. The configuration of how a soccer ball is divided into pentagons and hexagons is based on the Truncated Icosahedron. Patches of pentagons and hexagons are then placed on faces to make a perfect sphere. These patches are created from revolved geometry cut by voids.
The dodecahedron base is parametric. The patches have to follow the same parametric way to change size. Trigonometry is heavy involved in deriving the formula in the parameters. Of course math is hard:)
